How long have you been established in Israel?
Holy Land Baptist Mission (HLBM), our headquarters, has been serving the Lord in several locations all over Israel and Palestine for the past 30 years. From HLBM, Calvary Church began. Our service began in July 2004, due to the strong response to the gospel in the city of Beit-haninah. We are the first evangelical church in this place, Praise God.

Where are you located exactly?
We are 1.5 miles northeast of Calvary the place where the cross-stood. Our church is on the edge of an area called Beit-haninah, right next to a main highway. Jerusalem’s Old City is aprox. 5 minutes away. We are in a predominantly Muslim community.

What exactly do you do in Israel?
Currently, we hold church meetings and activities several times a week. We have youth meetings with internet outreach, children programs that give them the opportunity to learn stories from the Bible, drawing, music, art, and group activities. Also we have meetings on a weekly basis to bring the married couples in the community together to have group discussions about family values through Bible principles. Our bus ministry is important because many of the community can not afford to own or rent taxis to attend church. Finally, our sponsor a child program allows young children to attend a local Christian school to build a foundation in the Lord.

We have a vision to expand and grow in the Lord and facilities. Once our main building is constructed we will be holding community outreaches, afterschool programs, hostel, daycare and much more.

Can we visit your ministry or take part in it? Is it safe?
You can come and visit us any time; I believe it is safe here. Our ministry is always welcoming visitors, those that have visited us in the past have continued to communicate with us and most have come back again. Those that have stayed and helped are the ones that really were affected by our ministry the most. The comment that we always hear is, “It changed my life forever. Now I can better appreciate what I have.”
